The Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department maintains and operates over 180 acres of parks and facilities such as the Surf 'n Slide Water Park, Cascade Campground, Larson Playfield, Lauzier Athletic Complex, Kvamme Soccer Complex and the Larson Recreation Center. We also provide year-round recreational experiences including: sports programs, cultural programs, educational classes, and tournaments for our citizens and visitors. Here is a listing of seasonal postitions in which we hire:
Concession Shift Manager — Minimum age 18
Independently operates one of five concession stands in city parks. May operate grill and fryer. Must be able to obtain food handlers permit.
Concession Attendant — Minimum age 16
Works front counter of a Moses Lake Parks and Recreation concession stand. Must be able to obtain food handlers permit.
Lifeguard — Minimum age 15
Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPRFPR Certification.
Aquatic Center Grounds Keeper — Minimum age 14
Responsible for cleaning and daily upkeep of the Surf 'n Slide Water Park.
Recreation Assistant (possible internship) — Minimum age 18
Assists with recreational programming, office duties, and Summer Concert and Movie Series.
Park Maintenance - Minimum age 16
Maintain landscaping, assist full-time staff with maintenance, repairs and development projects.
Ballfield Maintenance — Minimum age 16
Ballfield preparation for league and tournament games. General litter, garbage control, and janitorial service to restrooms.
Aquatic Center Maintenance - Minimum age 18
Vacuum bottom of pools using specialized equipment. Shift 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. 4 days per week.
Mower Operator - Minimum age 18
Mow all parks, street beautification sites, and other city owned properties.
Custodial Attendant - Minimum age 16
Litter and garbage control in all parks, street sites, etc. Janitorial service to city restrooms and bathhouses.
Park Security - Minimum age 18
Security patrol of all parks and facilities. Shift 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
