New art exhibits open at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center!

Julia Haack's salvaged wood sculptures reference diverse sources, including contemporary quiltmaking, window awnings, and the landscape. In reaction to the pall of the current economy, most are painted with optimistically bright colors.

GREGG CAUDELL

Artist, Gregg Caudell's connection to horses is both spiritual and material. Gregg has worked draft horses logging and farming for more than 30 years in the Big Bend Country of Eastern Washington. He shares this intimate knowledge of working the land through his paintings. "Like the big horses I work with, I paint big. Big canvas, big color, big horses and the big country of the Big Bend."

NANCY HATHAWAY

Nancy Hathaway's works in sculpture and mixed media present a humorous and provocative investigation of the duality of human experience — intellect verses instinct, nurture versus nature. Throughout her work, Hathaway's use of humor belies the more serious undertones of the work, marking the absurd underpinnings of common cultural assumptions, while questioning the synthetic construction of gender roles, cultural expectations and norms.

MAC is a non-profit institution emphasizing the history and art of Central Washington and is supported by the City of Moses Lake and Friends of MAC.
The MAC is located at 228 West Third Avenue in downtown Moses Lake. Summer hours are 11am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and admission is FREE.
